Another important factor during the long jump takeoff is displacing the body forward moving past the center of mass and driving the body forward while the takeoff leg is still on the ground.

When training the long jump takeoff, using boxes and ramps will help create the lowering of the hips and set up the proper lift needed for the execution of the in air technique.
