Javelin Throw Box Drop with Medicine Ball

Medicine ball training for the javelin throw is a commonly used training modality to improve performance by developing event-specific qualities. The medicine ball drop box throw improves specific lower body strength by taking advantage of the additional force added from gravity by dropping down from a height. The javelin throw movement improves the specific strength with a heavier medicine ball (1 to 3 kilos) or can improve the specific speed of the javelin thrower with a lighter medicine ball (under 1 kilo).
